Who we are
The Endowments and Minors Funds Authority (Awqaf Abu Dhabi) was established under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. It is the supreme authority responsible for the administration, registration, and development of endowments in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in a manner that ensures long-term positive economic and social impact.
Awqaf Abu Dhabi operates under the supervision of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and is responsible for regulating, safeguarding, and developing endowed assets, as well as ensuring the proper distribution of their returns to create sustainable value for society.
In addition to organizing and overseeing the work of endowment trustees, licensing custodians, and issuing the necessary permits for endowment institutions in Abu Dhabi, the Authority is also responsible for the management and protection of the funds of minors and those of similar legal status, in accordance with applicable regulations.
